How to Extend the Service Life of Mining Dump Truck Tires
Mining dump trucks are common industrial vehicles, and tires are a crucial component of mining four-wheelers. If tire failures occur during operation, normal work cannot be completed. Therefore, tires are extremely important for a mining dump truck. Next, we will explain how to extend the service life of the tires.
First, strictly adhere to the tire inflation standards. After inflation, check all parts for air leakage, and regularly inspect the tire pressure to ensure it meets the standards. Develop the habit of measuring pressure with a barometer instead of judging by the naked eye. Ensure the tires have a certain degree of elasticity—when bearing the specified load, their deformation does not exceed the allowed range, so as to maintain good stability and comfort of the vehicle during operation. The spare tire should be inflated to a relatively higher pressure to prevent air leakage over time.
Second, correctly select, match and install tires, and use corresponding inner tubes according to tire specifications. Tires fitted on the same machinery must be of the same brand, same structure and same performance. If this requirement cannot be met, tires of the same brand, same specification, same tread pattern and same type should be installed on the same axle; when replacing tires with new ones, the entire vehicle or the same axle should be replaced simultaneously; tires with directional tread patterns must be installed in accordance with the specified rolling direction; when fitting new tires, the new ones should be mounted on the front wheels, and repaired tires on the rear wheels. To ensure driving safety, retreaded tires are not allowed to be used as steering wheels (front wheels).
Third, perform regular tire rotation. After the vehicle has been in operation for a period of time, the front and rear tires will differ in terms of fatigue and wear levels, so timely rotation should be carried out in accordance with regulations. There are two methods for tire rotation: the cross rotation method and the cycle rotation method. The cross rotation method is suitable for vehicles that frequently travel on roads with a relatively large arch, while the cycle rotation method is applicable to vehicles that often run on relatively flat roads.
